Recognizing the important role Supervisors
play in keeping crews and work zones safe in the day-to-day
operations of its companies and divisions, the Vecellio Group
presented more than 160 Supervisor Safety Awards and bonuses for
job performance in 2008.
Each year, corporate and company safety
departments use a strict point system to track and measure
multiple safety factors, then recognize Supervisors whose
performance reaches a certain level or higher.
Earning Group bragging rights for the year,
Vecellio & Grogan and White Rock Quarries tied with the most
top-level award recipients, while Sharpe Bros. and Ranger
Construction's Central Division were not far off the lead.
Ranger Central led the Group with most
recipients overall, closely followed by Ranger South, V&G, and
Ranger North.
Travelers
provided further recognition for the Group's emphasis on safety.
Sharpe
Bros., Ranger
Central and Ranger South earned commemorative
plaques for
achieving extended safe working periods with no "lost time"
incidents.
