Ranger Weathers Summer Storms To Push Ahead On Variety Of Projects
(3rd Quarter 2011)
The rainy summer season is
always challenging for Florida’s asphalt paving contractors, so
Ranger Construction crews work diligently to keep projects
moving along.
Current projects includes
reconstructing and widening nearly three miles of US-27 in Polk
County under an $8.7 million FDOT contract.
In the Orlando area, Ranger is
resurfacing a section of SR-429 for the Orlando-Orange
Expressway Authority. The $9.8 million project includes signage,
pavement marking and guardrail.
Ranger is performing similar
work on SR-500/US-192 in Osceola County under a $3.4 million
contract, and on SR-A1A in Indian River County under a $1.6
million contract, both with the FDOT.
At Indian River State College
in St. Lucie County, Ranger is preparing the site and paving for
the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Also in St.
Lucie, work has begun on a design-build project to widen nearly
nine miles of I-95 under a $78 million contract. Ranger is the
prime contractor, while other team members include Wantman
Group, Atkins, and Cone & Graham.
Ranger is improving several
sections of Okeechobee Blvd. in Palm Beach County, while crews
from both the West Palm Beach and Miami operations continue
providing widening and paving work for I-595 Express, a major
expansion project in Broward County. Ranger’s two subcontracts
on the I-595 project exceed $80 million and include paving
adjoining Turnpike lanes.
Additional Turnpike work in
South Florida includes widening and resurfacing other sections,
including numerous toll plazas and ramps, under contracts
totaling more than $10.5 million.
Ranger Lands Top Airport Award
(3rd Quarter 2011)
Ranger Construction has
received the General Aviation Project of the Year award from the
FDOT for its efficient approach to reconstructing Runway 11L/29R
at Vero Beach Municipal Airport.
The project consisted of using
a cold in-place recycling method to reuse existing runway
material as a new base course, then overlaying it with a P-401
Superpave mix to create the runway’s new surface layer.
Resurfacing Leads New FDOT Work
(3rd Quarter 2011)
New FDOT work at Ranger
Construction includes milling and resurfacing more than three
miles of SR-710/Beeline Hwy, along with sections of Blue Heron
Blvd. and Congress Avenue, all in Palm Beach County, for a total
of about $4.2 million. In Broward, Ranger is resurfacing
SR-814/Atlantic Blvd. under a $3.4 million contract.
Great Service Earns Customer Loyalty
(3rd Quarter 2011)
Whether the customer is the
project owner or another contractor, Ranger’s goal is always the
same: provide great customer service and high quality,
cost-effective results.
Positive feedback from a
long-time customer on a paving job at Dyer Chevrolet in Vero
Beach, FL, shows Ranger Construction is making the grade.
“I couldn’t have completed
this job on time without the efforts and cooperation of Ranger
and for that I am truly grateful,” said Dennis J. Kempf, Sr.,
President of Kempfs’ Site Development.
“I have been in business for
over 30 years and for all of that time I have used Ranger
Construction for my paving needs,” said Kempf. “Whether I need
them early in the morning, late at night or on weekends, Ranger
has always fit me into their schedule so that I can meet my
deadlines.”
